Honestly, when I came upon Suzie Bright's eulogy to Marilyn Chambers earlier today, I was stunned. As of yet, we still don't know what she died of but we do know that foulplay has been ruled out.
Marilyn was born April 22, 1952 in Connecticut and she passed away on April 12, 2009.What can I say?
She was the star of the very first porn that I ever saw, "Insatiable". I remember sneaking into the room of a friend's older brother and plopping in a beta tape. The rush I got from being "naughty" was replaced by the rush I got from seeing the images that were up on the screen. There was Marilyn getting sexed on a pool table. Oh, I was enthralled by Marilyn and her writhing around on the table as she was getting pounded repeatedly. You know, to this day, whenever I see a pool table that scene comes to mind. THANK YOU, MARILYN!!!

When I was old enough to by porn on my own, Marilyn had pretty much left the business to star in Hard R movies. Cinemax would show stuff like "Angel of H.E.A.T." and "Marilyn Chambers' Bedtime Stories" so I still got to see her but not in any hardcore scenes. She was replaced by Nina Hartley, Ginger Lynn, Alisha Monet, etc.

She was forgotten in a porn sense, sure, but I still remembered who she was because of that one scene. It wasn't until she made her comeback in 1999 that I began to search her out. In fact, I remember when Johnny Keyes was put into the AVN Hall of Fame and there was mention of a scene that he did with Marilyn in "Behind the Green Door". Since I was in a classics mood, I picked it up along with "Insatiable".
Needless to say, the pool table scene in "Insatiable" STILL gets to me. As for "Behind the Green Door", I came away VERY impressed. The scene with Johnnie Keyes was VERY hot as it led to a full-on orgy and I just LOVE group sex.I wish that she had done more adult films in her career as her sexuality on the screen was something to see. She had the ability to draw you into her scenes and that is why she is a legend. That sexuality....
